Donor Center Technician

Position Summary

The Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the donor database and supporting the center in the process of preparing, testing and transplantations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process donor blood for all required testing including pre-op preparation, pre-transplant education, pre-transplant preparation, pre-op education, blood collection and pre-transplant education.
• Participate in pre-op preparation by preparing all required blood components including centrifuge, decontaminating, cleaning, and labeling.
• Participate in pre-op education by answering all required questions regarding procedure, product(s) to be used in the procedure, patient information.
• Participate in pre-transplant education by answering all questions regarding procedure, product(s) to be used in the transplantation, patient information.
• Participate in post-op preparation including but not limited to blood draw, rehydrate and hydrate patients for surgery.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as a medical technician preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
