ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY

The Domestic Violence Response Team Coordinator position, also known as the Crisis Response Team (CRT) Coordinator, at the direction of and in collaboration with the Director of the Family Justice Center (FJC), has the responsibility of managing, training, developing, and reporting of the Crisis Response Team (CRT) implemented throughout the Union County municipalities and their police departments. This position will work closely with the FJC Director to assist in the development of a safe and confidential atmosphere for all clients of the YWCA Union County. This position reports directly to and is supervised by the FJC Director. This position is 32 hours/week.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services field.
  • Minimum two years' experience working in the field of Domestic Violence
  • Knowledge and understanding of Domestic Violence and trauma.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must demonstrate cultural competency in experience and/or education.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Coordinate with local Domestic Violence Liaison Officers (DVLO) and each police municipality to ensure regular utilization of CRT on all appropriate calls.
  • Connect with DVLOs or law enforcement of every municipality at least bimonthly to ensure ongoing communication and engagement with CRT and go in person to all police stations for onsite police training and relationship building.
  • Recruit, screen, train and manage a team of volunteers for CRT and assist with conducting 40 hour Domestic Violence training for all volunteers across YWCA.
  • Respond as needed to call-outs during regular business hours.
  • Develop and implement the annual goals and objectives, ensure CRT program coverage, and program outcomes.
  • Schedule, implement, deliver, and coordinate two yearly 40-hour trainings for new staff and volunteers and other interested attendees.
  • Facilitate YWCA Training Committee and ensure that all 40-hour training materials are up-to-date and culturally competent.
  • As part of CRT volunteer team management, provide the first line of response to all volunteers.
  • Assist with officer training as requested.
  • Provide ongoing training and support at quarterly volunteer meetings.
  • Maintain flexibility in schedule to meet CRT Program needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date CRT volunteer contact information.
  • All positions will be trained to answer the hotline, and for coverage of backup shifts.

Volunteer Recruitment/Outreach

  • Recruit and screen volunteers for all YWCA programs. Engage in volunteer appreciation activities.
  • Assist the Director of Community Support (DoCSS) and the YWCA Community Educator in providing technical assistance and/or training to volunteers and other community groups, as needed.
  • Update volunteer recruitment materials and maintain material for training curriculum and volunteer procedures.
  • Be available for evening and/or weekend hours as necessary to achieve program goals.

Documentation/Supervision

  • Maintain and enter data on volunteer callouts.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings with the FJC Director on a regular basis.
  • Complete statistical and narrative reports monthly and as needed.
  • Attend NJCEDV CRT meetings and YWCA staff meetings.

General Agency Responsibilities

  • Provide community trainings on Domestic Violence as needed.
  • Attend and participate in community and board of director meetings as needed.
  • Represent the Agency to other organizations as assigned.
  • Represent the YWCA on external committees, as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
