Safe Passage has an opening for a full time Domestic Violence Child Counselor. This position requires a master’s degree in human services field. Experience with/knowledge of trauma-informed interventions, a plus. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Domestic Violence, sexual assault, and victim-centered services. In addition, the ideal candidate will also have organizational abilities, good listening skills, and the ability to multi-task. Spanish speaking a plus.
The Domestic Violence Child Counselor will provide counseling and crisis intervention services to victims of Domestic Violence.
Primary responsibilities of the Domestic Violence Child Counselor are:
· Provide Domestic Violence education and individual counseling for child clients.
· Provide evaluations/assessments to determine individualized needs of clients.
· Provide family counseling.
· Provide education on parenting skills.
· Provide education on how Domestic Violence affects children.
· Facilitate and co-facilitate kid’s support groups and parenting group.
· Organize activities for children and parents, including summer program.
· Participate in on-call by responding to Domestic Violence and sexual assault medical calls at hospitals and local police departments.
· Participate in case consultations regarding clients.
· Provide advocacy for clients with other agencies in the community (e.g., DCFS, schools, etc.)

Pay: $25.00 per hour
