Domestic & International Shipping Clerk

Summary/objective

Shipping Clerks perform a variety of daily tasks to get orders to the customer including picking, packing, and processing. Direct communication with account managers and carriers regarding order related issues.

Essential functions

• Pick, process, package and ship orders accurately
• Troubleshoot shipping issues related to shipments and order processing
• Write production requests for out-of-stock inventory items
• Answer service tickets in a timely manner
• Keep area clean and organized
• Coordinate deliveries for LTL shipments
• Communicate with USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL
• International shipping
• Commercial invoices
• USMCA (United States Mexico Canada Agreement)
• Dangerous Goods
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to meet daily deadlines

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize shipments and tickets
• Internal Transaction Number (ITN) experience preferred
• Excellent time management skills and organizational skills
• Detail oriented in all paperwork and customs documentation
• Experience shipping with all major carriers (FEDEX, UPS, DHL, USPS) including International Shipping
• Proficient in Microsoft office software
• Proficient in Adobe
• Willingness to learn new software

Physical demands/Work Environment

• Ability to sit, stand and walk throughout the day
• Moderate noise levels
• Daily interactions with numerous employees
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Occasional prolonged periods of standing
• Ability to operate dock plate

Required education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous Domestic & International Shipping experience required
• Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment

Schedule: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday

Compensation: $18-21/hour ~ Depending on Experience
