Midwest Animal Hospital seeks an enthusiastic playroom attendant who loves dogs and who has a fantastic work ethic! If you want to work with our furry friends to give them an engaging, stimulating, and joyful experience while their parents are away, this role is for you! Our daycare staff work hard to make sure all dogs have a fun day with their friends, while in a safe environment, and ensuring safe play for all. Our daycare team are the leaders of the pack and they must be confident in their demeanor and commands so that the pups listen and respond appropriately. The daycare team leads the group in fun activities, learning basic commands, and of course giving lots of love! In this role you will learn appropriate play behavior, how to spot and redirect inappropriate behavior, proper dog handling, how to give basic commands, and a lot about dog body language! Requirements:
— Must possess a warm, caring, friendly demeanor and a professional appearance
— Must be a true dog lover
—Must be willing to work days, weekends, holidays.
— This is a very active position -You will be constantly on your feet, paying attention to interactions between dogs.
— You must be able to notice any signs that the dogs in your care are sick or in distress, and you must be willing and able to address those problems quickly.
— Patience is a must. We never use physical punishment with any dog and require people who can use our tried and true methods to manage dog behavior without resorting to mistreatment or growing frustrated.
— Must be a team player as you will be working with other attendants, managers, throughout your shift.
Responsibilities and Duties:
— Maintaining a safe play area for large groups of dogs
— Monitoring the dogs to ensure appropriate play
— Regular cleaning duties. We keep our facilities as sanitary as a human daycare. Be prepared — we love dogs, but we'd never tell you they don't make a lot of messes by nature!
— Remain in compliance with all policies, including attendance, dress code standards, and punctuality. All potential employees are subject to a background check and drug screen.
