Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate dog trainer to join our team. In regards to this position, your primary responsibility will be to train dogs using positive reinforcement techniques, without the use of slip lead, halti, prong, martingale or ecollars. As well as No pain or fear-based training methods. Your expertise will help shape and improve the behavior and obedience of canines, ensuring a positive and safe environment for both the animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct individual and group training sessions for canines of various breeds and ages.
2. Assess and evaluate canines' behavior, temperament, and training needs.
3. Develop customized training programs based on the canines' individual requirements and the goals of their owners.
4. Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors while discouraging unwanted behaviors.
5. Teach basic, intermediate, and advanced obedience cues as needed.
6. The ability to address and modify behavioral problems, including but not limited to separation anxiety, aggression, and excessive barking is preferred but not required.
7. Educate canine owners on effective training techniques, providing them with the knowledge and skills to continue training at home.
8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of each canine’s progress and training history.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest canine training methods, attending seminars, workshops, or continuing education programs as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of one year of professional experience as a Canine Trainer.
2. In-depth knowledge of positive reinforcement training methods and a commitment to using force-free and pain-free techniques.
3. Possession of reliable transportation to travel to Woof Houze and clients' locations for training sessions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients and their canine.
7. Strong observational skills to assess and interpret canine behaviors accurately.
8. Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for animals.
9. Ability to adapt training strategies to meet the specific needs and learning styles of each canine.
10. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
The willingness and ability to clean up after a canine if they have an indoor accident
