We're a top rated Cage-Free Dog Daycare and Overnight Boarding Facility and we're now hiring for Yard Attendants!
Our ideal candidate is a DOG LOVER, and we don't mean "just petting dogs once in a while if they are around" kind of love, we mean a "dog hugging, You-Tube video watching, hanging with the dog at a party" kind of dog lover. We're looking for the person that dreams of puppies while they sleep, and stops in their tracks to pet someone's dog on the street. If this sounds like you - then read on!
If you are our ideal candidate, then you are REALLY a team player, you are ambitious, and are excited about controlling chaos! Previous dog-related work experience is a plus, but not a must. We are open to training and investing in you - if you are eager and willing to work hard.
This person isn't afraid of dog slobber, poo, (or other dog-related liquids) and appreciates an "in-your-face" warm welcome. This person is eager to wrestle with puppies, excited to snuggle with old dogs big and small, and enjoys watching adopted dogs build confidence after a life of abuse or neglect. This dog lover appreciates all kinds of breeds (as we don't breed restrict), but they are also ready to roll up their sleeves and tackle the dirty and necessary parts of the job to ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment. They aren't afraid of a mop or a vacuum, they jump in when a task needs to be done instead of saying "that's not my job," and they communicate to management when something just doesn't feel right.
This person is excited about working outdoors in all types of weather: rain, wind or shine (mainly awesome San Diego weather.) They're not afraid of hard days work ranging from 6-8 hours with physical requirements of being on your feet all day, squatting, running, lifting, and lunging (dancing optional.) They are open to working with a team of like-minded people, hanging out at team-building events, and enjoy random celebrations for every birthday or milestone! They understand how important dog to human ratios are for safety- and how calling out of a shift or showing up late puts the team in a not-so-great place. But that's not a problem- because they are super reliable and show up on time!! They are positive thinkers, they like to help others and let other people help them. They have a strong attention to detail and a rockin' memory to learn dozens of dog names /quirks so they can keep tabs on what each dog needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining a strict observation of the dogs at all times, including learning dog names
- Correcting unwanted behavior by voice commands, and positive reinforcement
- Communicating with co-workers/management as a team
- Maintaining cleaning duties such as laundry, mopping, washing dog bowls, and sanitizing all dog-play areas
- Maintaining a sanitary yard by immediately picking up all dog waste and spot cleaning
QUALIFICATIONS: (Check off all that apply to you)
- Must have a positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture
- MUST BE PASSIONATE ABOUT ALL DOGS! We Do NOT breed-restrict
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a flexible schedule to do a variety of shifts (AM/PM/Late night)

- Must have a reliable means of transportation
- Must be a quick learner and open to on-the-job training
- Must be okay with standing and walking for long periods of time, outdoors (rain or shine)
