Shop Foreman / Production Manager
Landmark DCJR of Morrow is excited to add the new position of Shop Foreman / Production Manager. This individual is a Master Certified Chrysler Technician primarily responsible for ensuring shop efficiency and productivity and ensuring quality vehicle repairs.
The successful Shop Foreman / Production Manager will liaise between the Service Manager, Service Advisors, Parts personnel, Technicians, and our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensures maximum shop efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate information, processes, and relationships with the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Advisors, Parts Manager and Parts Advisors.
- Distribute repair work and ensure the appropriate assignment of repair orders to Technicians.
- Check the progress of each repair order throughout the day.
- Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
- Assist the Service Manager with issues involving personnel, facilities, tools, or equipment that could affect productivity, efficiency, work quality, or customer satisfaction.
- Maintain adequate supplies of equipment, tools, and shop supplies. Ensure the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools. Recommend purchase of new equipment and tools.
- Inspect the quality of work performed while in progress and assist Technicians with technical issues.
- Ensure that customer’s vehicles are repaired and maintained properly fixed right the 1st time.
- Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
- Ensure that repairs are charged out correctly.
- Review additional work recommendations at the Technician's work stall and verify the condition of the car.
- Ensure that thorough and complete MPIs are performed and the appropriate recommendations made by technicians.
- Provide Technicians and Service Advisors with technical information and repair procedures.
- Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Exhibits and facilitates technical expertise.
- Build and maintain knowledge of Chrysler products and services and technical expertise through on-the-job training and attending training programs.
- Conduct training and coaching of technicians every week.
- Coordinate training for Service Technicians, including training seminars and workshops.
- Maintain an effective technical information library.
- Thoroughly conduct a visual inspection with customers to provide transparency and build trust.
- Ensure video inspections are conducted for vehicles where the customer is not present; and make sure those are sent to the customer within an hour of finishing the inspection.
