What You Will Do
Provide leadership and oversight as a Team Leader (TL) for the Document Control and Records Management Group (DCRM). DCRM resides within the Service Innovation Division (SI), under the Associate Level Directorate for Business Management (ALDBUS).

Team Leaders are key members and contributors in the leadership team responsible for supporting the strategic direction for the Team/Group, providing oversight on IT initiatives, working with, and supporting group leadership, developing, and maintaining good customer and cross-organizational relations, promoting a strong safety, security, and ethics culture, and assisting the Group Office on other duties as assigned. The Team Leader will serve as the first line manager, responsible for providing direction and oversight to the team, interacting with customer organizations, ensuring development and implementation of compliant DCRM programs, and supporting group and division goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be positive, forward thinking, and always looking for opportunities to modernize and improve processes and procedures.
The selected candidate will lead a team of Information Specialist professionals responsible for Document Control and Records Management deployed to various organizations at LANL. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing information in an Electronic Document and Records Management System
  • Managing critical business processes and workflows in a work management system
  • Strategic planning to support stakeholders, customers, and staff members
  • Collaborating with customers and internal/external partners to support DCRM tools and applications
  • Collaboration with the Group Office, internal customers, stakeholders, and peer organizations to achieve alignment between institutional priorities and allocation of resources
  • Managing the information lifecycle process, including initiation, review, and issuance of documents
  • Provide Management and oversight of DCRM Service Delivery Requirements
  • Team management, forecasting and financial management, capabilities and staff development, succession planning, personnel, and ensuring a safe and secure workplace

Minimum Job Requirements:
Leadership and Communication
Demonstrated experience leading a team to execute a defined scope of work. Demonstrated aptitude for developing and motivating employees, coaching, and mentoring team members to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and the ability to interact with a variety of constituents. Fosters a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Business Operations
Demonstrated experience in team management activities, including work planning, budget monitoring, performance objective development and monitoring, personnel management, metrics, and reporting, and ensuring a safe and secure workplace for the team and group. Plans and allocates resources to fulfill customer requirements.
Teamwork
Proven ability to assist in the development of DCRM strategies and objectives to effectively address organizational goals for programmatic, business, and operational excellence and focus on executing work in a safe, secure, and compliant manner.
Information Management (IM)
Advanced technical knowledge of DCRM and IM program concepts, techniques, standards, and requirements to manage diverse and complex institutional DCRM or IM programs and/or projects across an institution. Demonstrated experience in assessing DCRM and IM programs for compliance and implementation/execution; identification and development of process improvements and/or corrective action plans; and experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on issues affecting DCRM/IM programs and processes.
Stakeholder Management
Proven ability to develop and leverage strategic relationships and create networks involving the coordination of groups and key decision makers, including DCRM managers and employees, technical IT staff, customer organizations, and senior level managers. Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and support to customer organizations in the realm of DCRM, institutional IT tools in support of DCRM, and process improvements. Experience ensuring DCRM programs and strategies effectively integrate with operational and institutional requirements.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution and 3 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing Federal contractual requirements such as National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) 36 CFR Chapter 12, Subchapter B, DOE Orders 243.1A, 243.2 and 414.1D into governing plans, procedures, systems, and practices.
  • Experience working in a matrixed or deployed organization.
  • Experience in process management and process improvement systems, tools, and methodologies
  • Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environmen

Work Location: The work location for this position is telework and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Telework is defined as working from offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
