Come join us at North Cove for an exciting summer along the water in NYC. Our marina hosts all types of boaters, from weekend-warriors to luxury private yachts. This position is a mix of concierge, operations, maintenance, administration, and customer service. Our dockhands are expected to work independently and are given a wide range of responsibilities and autonomy to get their jobs done. **** Prior marina/boating/maritime experience required, additional hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
This is a seasonal position. Employment will likely begin in April or May and end in October or November. 40 hours per week + overtime. High performers may have an opportunity to take on more responsibility for higher pay or move to a salaried position and year-round employment.
We are looking to fill all shifts, 8am - 10pm seven days per week.
Dock attendants are responsible for fulfilling any and all needs of marina guests.
- Assists Dock Master in marina related duties such as securing vessels to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (telephone, power, and water), black water pump out, waste disposal and facility sanitation.
- Maintains VHF radio and in-person communication with vessels, Marina office and marina management.
- Provides general security and supports marina and facility security teams in their security related efforts; reports disturbances in dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.
- Performs general light maintenance on marina infrastructure and vessels.
- Any other duties reasonably assigned by the dockmaster or general manager
