The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth West Florida Division

The role you'll contribute:

The primary role of Director of Operational Excellence is to provide leadership influence and domain expertise to support West Florida Division (WFD) of AdventHealth facilities cost glide path journey through the application of robust operation performance improvement approaches, including but not limited to support our hospitals and system Operational Excellence and clinical utilization performance efforts.  This position serves as an expert consultant to all levels of leadership within WFD, including senior, mid-level and front-line leaders primarily serving as a subject matter expert and senior change agent in driving strategic initiatives in operational performance improvement.  This position is responsible for providing project management and divisional prioritization for a variety of service, operational performance measurement, and process improvement initiatives throughout the WFD in service line/operational/clinical departments, using internal and external benchmarking efforts, and operational performance tracking, and process improvement tools.

 

Provides expertise, education, analytic support for the development, utilization and implementation of an operational performance measurement learning system, including critical techniques in change management, and process improvement throughout the hospitals in the WFD. Serves as a resource and role model for other operational performance improvement specialists, and trains other leaders and end-users on performance improvement systems. 

 

The value you'll bring to the team:

         Works closely with divisional executives and hospital operational leaders to plan, develop and analyze operational performance improvement project requirements and provides strategic and tactical support of various multi-disciplinary performance improvement teams to ensure timely execution of the projects.  

         Applies statistical techniques, data mining and direct observations to evaluate processes and performance to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize tasks and formulate well-thought strategy and comprehensive implementation plans to achieve the desirable results.

         Assembles data and reports related to clinical utilization and resource management, performance improvement initiatives and activities though close collaborations with Decision Support and department leaders. Monitors the project status and progress regularly. Provides progress reports to the divisional and hospital c-suite executives and other key stakeholders regularly.

         Supports annual divisional fiscal budget process and planning in non-labor expense management by integrating internal and external best practices and divisional cost saving initiatives.

         Makes well thought recommendations and communicates with key stakeholders timely and effectively through various channels and methods including but not limited to the Power Point presentations, process mapping, written documents, etc.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

         Master's degree completed in health service administration (MHA), business administration (MBA), system performance engineering, industrial engineering, public health

         Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in project management or operational performance improvement experience in acute care hospital or health system setting

         Demonstrated a proven success tracking record in completion of operation performance improvement projects

         Lean/Six Sigma green or black belt certification preferred
