Position Title: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist will assist our Upper School and Middle School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinators in supporting our 28+ student affinity groups on both campuses. They will also be responsible for tracking and archiving the various student, parent, faculty/staff, and alumni affinity group activities in collaboration with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office, the Office of Alumni Relations, and our Parents’ Activities Liaison, including updating the “DEI in Action” portion of the Harvard-Westlake website. They will also provide support to our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinators as needed, and they will take an active part in creating a welcoming environment at Harvard-Westlake where everyone feels an equal sense of belonging.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Assisting our Upper and Middle School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinators in working with our student affinity groups on both campuses.
- Maintaining the DEI portion of the Harvard-Westlake website especially including the “DEI in Action” page
- Tracking and creatively archiving the myriad student, parent, faculty/staff, and alumni affinity group activities.
- Other duties as determined in collaboration with the Assistant Head of School for Community and Belonging and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated experience, grounding, or coursework in diversity, equity, and Inclusion practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on public speaking and compassionate listening skills
- Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
Harvard-Westlake School
We are an independent school consisting of two campuses located in Los Angeles, California. We have approximately 1,600 curious, thoughtful, and inspiring students enrolled in grades seven through twelve.

Schedule:
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week
- Attend certain Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office events as determined in collaboration with the Assistant Head of School for Community and Belonging
Compensation:
Anticipated base rate for this position is $25-$35 per hour based on experience.
