Job description

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager at Arcora Foundation will support Arcora’s capacity to listen, empathize, and resource communities most impacted by health disparities in Washington state and to promote their voice as the experts in their own experience, values, and needs. This position will partner with key leaders and staff to develop and implement a work plan that provides Arcora a sustainable framework to support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment across its strategic goals and initiatives. These responsibilities will include developing strategic recommendations and collaboratively drive and manage change for the Foundation’s operational, communications, programmatic, and educational activities to advance diversity, equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Arcora.

You will make an impact by championing Arcora’s equity-focused strategic direction and help advance its mission and vision, leading and managing change through influence.

The pay range for this position varies between $95,160.00 – $135,420.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates—including Delta Dental of Washington (DDWA) and Arcora Foundation—intend to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic thought partnership to Arcora’s senior leadership and other relevant DDWA leaders to design and implement successful practices related to organizational development, change management, and staff engagement that is aligned with the Foundation’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Partner with Arcora leadership to continue the ongoing process of embedding DEI into our core values that not only is critical to accomplishing our mission, but also undergirds the organizational culture we envision. This includes leading, driving, and managing organizational change efforts around building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
  • Ensure all Arcora operating practices have a DEI approach. This includes training and awareness, staff recruitment and engagement, staff and partner experiences, leadership engagement, health equity, data and analytics, and communications. Collaborate with key leaders and staff to develop and/or refine a process to measure success in these areas.
  • Develop and maintain processes and systems to support and promote accountability among Arcora leaders as they build their leadership of DEI in their work.
  • Lead the Arcora staff’s team primarily responsible with helping advance the Foundation and its staff on its DEI journey.
  • Serve as the staff liaison for the Arcora Board of Trustees DEI Committee.
  • Represent Arcora Foundation in the philanthropic, health, and community sectors to learn from others and position Arcora as a leader in DEI as it relates to health.

Programs Consultation

  • Provide analysis of teams’ current DEI competencies and collaborate with team leads to set goals and strategies for improvement. This includes taking a balanced consultative and systemic approach to enable the Foundation’s programs and initiatives to integrate inclusion and diversity for success through strategic and tactical/operational execution.
  • Support Arcora senior leadership team and program leaders to engage with our grantees and partners by providing input and advice on Arcora’s approach to partnership and community engagement.

Program Management

  • Develop, refine, and implement plan to deepen DEI into the Foundation’s culture and to increase staff and partner engagement.
  • Use data to evaluate the Foundation’s performance relative to its strategic goal metrics related to equity; use the data analysis to inform and develop recommendations for solutions to drive continual improvement.
  • Manage and be accountable for implementing Arcora’s organizational culture and DEI workplan and budget.

Experience, skills, and education needed to succeed in the position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

  • A bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) and 7 years’ experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities or 12 years of relevant experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with tact, and to work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically, culturally, and geographically diverse people and communities.
  • Experience successfully designing, leading, and implementing DEI strategies and activities
  • Experience leading organizational development and change or staff engagement strategies and activities.
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully leading and driving change across teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to coaching and mentoring colleagues on organizational development and staff engagement principles and how to successfully apply them in their work.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and work with teams with varied strengths to ensure goals are reached in a timely and successful manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations, identify causes, gather, and process relevant information, and generate solutions.
