JOB DESCRIPTION: DISTRICT MANAGER

SUMMARY
The District Manager is responsible for the health and growth of all locations under their supervision. This includes the location’s profitable operation, the training of the leadership personal in those locations and the preservation of 7 Brew’s culture, mission statement, and values. The Manager is the direct supervisor of the location managers and is responsible for ensuring that they are equipped to manage their stands and are meeting every KPI required of them.
In addition to the more autonomous work of supervising the stands and the crew, the District Manager will also work on shift in the “Brewista,” role at each location they supervise for at least 3 hours once a week. The District Manager reports to the Regional Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Meet with Stand Managers once per week to review the last weeks operations and set goals for the following week.
- Create financial goals and plans for each of your managers to hit specific numbers in sales, COGS, loyalty, etc. Work with the managers to ensure they understand expectations and are equipped to execute the plan.
- Must take ultimate responsibility for the financial operations of each location under your supervision, your ability to grow profitability in accordance with expectations given by upper management will directly effect your pay and ultimately your job security.
- Coach the stand managers to develop them into more mature leaders.
- Create individual and approachable relationships with the baristas and shift leads at your stands, giving them a “bigger than my stand,” picture of 7 Brew leadership. Invest in the crew in such a way that empowers them while maintaining the authority and influence of the stand manager.
- Oversee the problem solving of any issues that may arise with equipment, inventory, building maintenance, or anything else pertaining to the operations of the locations you supervise.
- Explore the community surrounding each location on a regular basis in order to find opportunities to reach new customers.
- Meet with Regional Manager once per week to report on the health of the stands, give a financial summary of the last week, and set goals for the coming weeks.
- Test the quality of the drinks and customer experience of all your locations once per week.
- Investigate and report on your stands culture once per month
- Read and stay up to date on the various group messages of your locations, engaging as often as is effective to answer questions, give shoutouts, and pass on critical information.
- Assist the stand manager with any sensitive situations that occur that require a secondary supervisor. This includes terminations, workplace disputes, and harassment.
- Be “on call,” to respond to urgent problems as needed. This includes equipment failure, dramatic employee issues, running out of product, internet issues, etc.
WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Work a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (5 a.m.) and some late nights (11:30 p.m.)
- Occasionally work extremely long hours for special events like grand openings
- Work most Fridays and Saturdays and be available to work holidays, if necessary
- Be available by phone or in person to promptly address any needs that may arise.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Be proficient in all “Stand Manager,” skill sets
- Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with both customers and teammates
- Be comfortable and skilled in addressing all issues that arise with team members
- Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effectively lead and direct multiple personality types under pressure
- Can work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products
- Can able to work outside for prolonged periods, in all weather conditions
- Can frequently lift up to 50lbs
- Be able to stand comfortably for hours at a time
- Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, squat, jump, and run as necessary to operate as a barista as needed. (You’d be surprised by how active this job is!)
- Can frequently climb a ladder and use a stepladder
- Be able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean in the stand
- Can safely walk in and between and cars in the drive thru line
- Can safely use a utility knife
- Beginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to understand and teach the financial operations of the locations
- Must be able to effectively train an employee from “Brewista,” to “Stand Manager.”
