Avantor is looking for a Distribution Supervisor to plan, organize, direct, manage, measure and evaluate the employees, processes and systems responsible for inventory within the distribution center. The Supervisor will also ensure implementation of the inventory management policies of the organization.
This role will be a full-time position based out of our Visalia, CA office. You will have the opportunity to identify and implement inventory operation improvements and to manage a team of professionals with a focus on setting objectives, plans and tactics that directly impact operational results of the department.

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$58,000.00 - $97,000.00
Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.

Avantor is looking for a Distribution Supervisor to plan, organize, direct, manage, measure and evaluate the employees, processes and systems responsible for inventory within the distribution center. The Supervisor will also ensure implementation of the inventory management policies of the organization.
This role will be a full-time position based out of our Visalia, CA office. You will have the opportunity to identify and implement inventory operation improvements and to manage a team of professionals with a focus on setting objectives, plans and tactics that directly impact operational results of the department.
What we're looking for:
- Education: College Degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years related experience desired; 1+ year leadership responsibility.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication.
- Familiarity with MS Office, PowerBI, reporting tools, computer & warehouse systems and equipment.
- Emphasis on safety is extremely important and ability to comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Prepare SOX reports and upload information to the SOX database for the West Region.
- Manage scrap budget across the West Region.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory across all storage locations by executing continuous physical inventory and cycle counts. Analyze inventory discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and adjust process, system and or policies/procedures accordingly.
- Manage inventory dating, excess & obsolete inventory within the distribution center.
- Communicate with commercial department on upcoming dating, excess & obsolete inventory.
- Communicate with Finance department to ensure sufficient reserves for inventory writer downs/offs.
- Participate in customer and vendor site audits, ensure that customer assigned, and customer owned inventory is appropriately managed systemically and physically.
- Manage all customer returns. Audit returns and move returned product to its proper location.
- Take appropriate action on product that is not in saleable condition.
- Monitor EP% and OS%, review NQE's and OS functions to address nonconformance to the standard.
- Ensure inbound flow from Receiving through Putaway, monitoring task pending Putaway by date and time. Ensure GR times are met and 24hr dock to stock is met daily.
- Work with the Warehouse or Transportation Manager, schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities.
- Drive IOP adherence at the site and maintain good security habits at dock doors.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks when necessary; operate forklift, and truck as needed.
- Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents and that receiving counts match packing lists and purchase orders and that shipping counts match picking documents.
