The Distribution Center Picking Technician provides a safe and friendly pickup/delivery experience adding value through accurate picking of finished goods while ensuring all required standards are achieved.

Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a safe, proficient lift truck operator
- Able to effectively utilize WMS-SAP as it relates to the job function
- Complete and effectively utilize the Communication Sheet
- Show a working knowledge of shipping paperwork and requirements (packing list, Bill of Lading, etc.)
- Accurately pick and complete orders
- Stage and/or load material correctly as needed
- Be familiar with all products and recognize/read labels
- Be familiar with the warehouse layout and zone specific guidelines
- Know the process of material flow and storage (main and off-site warehouses) as it relates to the job function
- Repack cartons to proper visual standards as needed
- Communicate with appropriate personnel (i.e. Switcher, Office Specialist) as needed
- Communicate order status with appropriate personnel (i.e. Loading Specialist, Team Leader) as needed
- Understand different shipment types (CPUP, LTL, etc.) and paperwork requirements
- Understand different carrier types (ESTES, OLD DOMINION, etc.) and paperwork requirements
- Follow proper dock/trailer safety protocols
- Understand and practice all safety requirements pertaining to the equipment and areas of the job function
- Maintain up-to-date sign-offs on training matrices
- Replace propane tanks as needed
- Recognize and report any potential issues to the Team Leader
- Keep work area clean and orderly
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license and keep it up to date. Must be able to drive forklift for an 8 hour shift and get on/off forklift regularly.
- One year of experience in a Distribution Center or warehouse is preferred
- Experience with WMS-SAP is preferred
- Ability to operate a Stretchwrap machine, clamp truck, RDT, computer workstations, and other motorized equipment
- Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses strong attention to detail skills.
- Can work independently and multi-task in faced paced environment
- Must be able to keep customer information confidential
