Job Overview:
Rectorseal is currently seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to manage a fast-paced, start-up Distribution Center in Tejon Ranch, CA. The Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the operation. The Manager must be accustomed to working among and leading warehouse associates while having the business acumen to participate in and or lead meetings with senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the output, productivity, and quality of operations
- Ensures that all operations are conducted in a way that adheres to all regulatory and corporate safety policies and procedures
- Leadership and development of the workforce
- Measure operations performance metrics with established KPI goals and targets
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for all operations disciplines (Lean/5S, Safety, Quality, Productivity, etc.)
- Develop a team culture of empowerment, proactive collaborative and individual problem solving, continuous improvement, and customer focus
- Resource planning and managing staffing levels to match demand forecast
- Coordination of daily production and shipping targets with the team
- Teaches, develops, and coaches team members regarding warehouse operations, including forklift operation, equipment, processes, and any technical usage of logistics systems
- Implements and monitors proper inventory control measures and cycle counting process
- Maintains warehouse organization
- Cross-functional responsibility with Rectorseal facility
- Partner with all TA facilities for alignment of process and procedure
- Utilization of JD Edwards (Oracle) ERP system to manage the business
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with JD Edwards (Oracle) ERP system
- Experience with a large distribution operation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
Minimum Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, or sufficient work experience in operations management in lieu of degree requirement
- 10 years of experience managing or direct supervision of a manufacturing/shipping operation
- Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to carry out and/or deliver detailed instructions
- Travel: Must be able to travel occasionally to visit customers, suppliers, tooling vendors, or attend industry trade shows.
- MS Office proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Project management and effective time management and prioritization
- Effective at leading teams towards a timebound set of goals and deliverables; Ability to lead a training session and/or provide 1:1 coaching and development; Excellent interpersonal skills; Excellent cross-functional collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Work Environment:
Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. Occasionally, the employee will be exposed to a warehouse environment and will be required to wear appropriate PPE. Warehouse: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation:
RectorSeal has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The target salary range for this exempt opportunity is $115,000 - $125,000 plus annual bonus incentives.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors.
