A Day in the Life
  • Create project plans, assemble and organize project teams, define milestones, and lead teams to achieve the desired results
  • Previous Medtronic experience
  • Leading software development efforts across a platform of products
  • Mentor and support technical leaders and peers throughout the organization
  • Drive key architectural thinking and designs that enable user experience
  • Utilize experience and education to build high quality, maintainable software following industry design/architectural patterns
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, maintains, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with 15+ years of engineering experience

OR

  • An advanced degree with 13+ years of engineering experience

Nice to Have

  • Previous Medtronic experience
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience with RTOS as well as linux architecture
  • Experience in medical device industry (or other regulated industry)
  • Experience with application design patterns and object-oriented design patterns

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
