Located in a renovated, textile mill built in the mid-1800s in downtown Lewiston, Maine, Baxter Brewing Company is one of the fastest growing breweries in the Northeast. Baxter has grown to be the third largest brewery in Maine and in the top 15 breweries in New England. This role will be working out of the Pub at Baxter, a full-service restaurant located in a gorgeous 3,600 sq. ft. area of the mill right next to the brewery. The Pub at Baxter has 24 beers on tap and a seasonally-updated, varied menu filled both with classic pub food and gastropub fare.

The ideal candidate for our open Dishwasher role provides other employees with assistance in the kitchen as needed while following all sanitation and health-related protocols. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry, we’d love to meet you! To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends.

What you'll be doing:

• Operate the industrial dishwasher
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
• Clean dish storage
• Follow sanitation policies at all times
• Assist prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
• Perform opening, closing and side work
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate party
• Other duties as assigned

What your background looks like:

• No experience required (we’re willing to train)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Excellent critical thinking and time management skills
• Ability to operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 20 lbs
• Willingness to work in hot, humid environment and on your feet for 8-hour shifts

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
