Position Summary
Primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dish area and equipment clean and organized. Dishwashers may also assist in the preparation of food items. Although this role generally does not include line cook duties, it provides the ideal opportunity to develop and use many of the skills essential to becoming a cook. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in using kitchen tools and equipment associated with the position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Load, run and unload dish machine.
- Restock all plateware and silverware on each station.
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the chef immediately.
- Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
- Keep dish area clean and organized.
- Complete opening and closing checklists.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergent.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
- Cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chefs or Managers at anytime.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must be able to communicate clearly with Chefs, Managers, and all staff personnel
- Must have a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8-12 hours)
- Willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Able to work in a fast paced kitchen environment.
- Able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment
