Job Description
The dishwasher/Porter washes all dishes, glassware, cutlery, and cookware. Cleans and organizes the Back of House area.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation
Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible
Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery, cutlery and tilt skillets
Keep the storeroom organized
Keep work surfaces, walls, and floors clean and sanitized
Clean the fridges, shelving, food preparation areas, cupboards, and trolleys.
Prepare the dishwasher for shift use, ensuring it is in full working order, has sufficient chemicals, and is cleaned as directed
Ensure all the dirty crockery and cutlery is cleared off the service racks, and washed correctly; once cleaned, stack all items safely on correct shelves and send clean crockery, cutlery, and glassware to the appropriate outlet
Follow all cleaning schedules for designated equipment according to sanitation standards
Dispose of all food waste, recyclable materials, and landfill materials in correct containers
Safety
Follow all safety protocols according to SOPs
Report and hazards and faulty equipment immediately
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Experience and/or good working knowledge of cleaning equipment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to stand on your feet for several hours.
Open schedule availability/flexibility. (including weekends)
Ability to anticipate kitchen needs throughout service.
Positive and respectful attitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. The employee is also required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. The employee may be required to travel to other floors using stairs multiple times during shift.
