The Director, Utility- scale Development is responsible for driving the growth of the RWE Utility-scale business. Drive growth is achieved through both securing leadership and financial approval for development projects as well as serving as a key lead in due diligence and valuation efforts for potential acquisitions
Responsibilities:
- Oversee strategy and support project development team with critical issues that impact the ability of the project to achieve investable financials
- Provide financial optimization and leadership in driving projects to successful leadership and financial approval
- Manage multiple projects, and engage with internal teams including technical, financial, legal, etc
- Develop and deliver of leadership presentations (including to Executive Leadership Team), seek approval for major investments
- Identify business priorities, project strategy, commercial opportunities and overall risks to help guide projects appropriately through the development process
- Identify key drivers for project economics
- Engage with project level M&A opportunities including initial review and qualification through diligence and contracting
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to develop and assess risks to project pipeline
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required with MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewables, energy efficiency, clean-tech, utilities sector and/or related fields
- Strong renewable market knowledge growth including offtake opportunities, offtake contact requirements, market comps, supplier engagement, etc
- Proven analytical skills and presentation skills
- Strong -interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven performance with strategy, market development and/or business development with a focus on large project development in the renewables / energy market
- Ability to assess renewable project financials
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $126,000 - $190,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
