Summary
The Director of Technology will manage Integrations, Technical Development, DevOps operations and have a deep understanding of BI technologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and reporting tools. The director will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement and innovation by leading proficient technical experts in managing enterprise cloud, on-prem applications that incorporate Microsoft and open-source technologies. The director will lead a team of software engineers, integrations specialists, and DevOps professionals while working closely with other departments and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain software systems and applications. Additionally, they will need to understand stakeholders' data needs, help to data models, and create insightful visualizations and reports.
Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, integration engineers, and DevOps engineers, providing guidance and direction as necessary to ensure successful project delivery and team performance.
  • Develop and implement software development, integration, and DevOps strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and define the future of the DevOps culture.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data warehousing and BI strategy that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust data models and ETL processes to ensure timely and accurate data availability for the data warehouse and BI solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of BI tools and processes, including dashboards, reports, and analytics, to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Collaborates with BRM (Business Relationship Management), DevOps and PMO teams to effectively manage resource allocation and delivery with emphasis to test driven development to reduce rework and improve efficiency.
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including cloud hosting providers and software tool vendors.
  • Manages AV's most ambitious and transformative implementations.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of all DevOps-related activities, including access control and monitoring of systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide regular status updates and progress reports to senior management, as well as recommendations for improvements to the DevOps function.
  • Mentor and lead the Application Development Team in all aspects of application development and delivery across all business departments.
  • Coordinate's activities of the team with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
  • Maintain and improve DevOps methodology and pipeline that support CI/CD for on-prem and cloud hosted solutions.
  • Engages with the business and identifies new functionality, develops compelling business cases, prioritizes projects, and develop plans that maximize return on investment.
  • Fosters a strong customer service mind-set throughout the application development team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business.
  • Partners with business leaders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with architecture and operations.
  • Conducts workflow analyses, business process reviews and creates functional specifications.
  • Ensures that all application development initiatives are well managed and delivered to meet expectations on functionality, timeliness, and cost.
  • Establish best practices and standards for software engineering, integration, and DevOps processes and procedures. This includes agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
  • Partners with internal customers to develop training and deployment plans aimed at maximizing both user adoption and realization of business benefits.
  • Manages application vendor relationships to ensure we have optimal and best practice rollout of various tools and technologies.
  • Evaluates team members performance, provides candid feedback and high impact coaching that enables (and motivates) them to achieve departmental as well as enterprise goals.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for tools management, administration, and project management, as well as design, build and support a secure DevOps pipeline platform, based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Participates in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with Senior Management.
  • Provides professional support services and/or the integration of their respective products.
  • Manages the deployment and maintenance of web application technologies and middleware solutions on Windows/Linux platforms.
  • Establishes service level agreements (SLAs) with business units & establishes requirements, technical deliverables and service level agreements with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors when securing tools-specific products and services.
  • Works with AV management and contracts where applicable when new services are being negotiated.
  • Manages and sets priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all internal IT tool systems, services, and DevOps systems and processes.
  • Manages vendor performance against established SLAs and metrics; assures deliverables are met or exceeded.
  • Frequently interacts with customers and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
  • Assesses and performs Continuous Process improvements across various tech stacks and enables governance and training of team members and peers to adopt agile processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Technology Management or related field degree is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 10+ years related hands-on development experience using either c++, Java or .net, etc.
  • Minimum 8+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams across multiple time zones and/or geographical locations including US and International locations.
  • Certification on either Middleware or Microsoft Development technologies is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Middleware and API integration experience with various systems.
  • Experience with a variety of middleware technologies, including OIC, Mulesoft, etc.
  • Experience implementing Cyber Security frameworks (NIST, SOX, Audit).
  • Strong experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and database design.
  • Strong experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering and DevOps principles, practices, and tools, including agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms.
  • Demonstrates adept leadership skill and ability to establish vision with a clear picture of where to go with a firm grasp of what success looks like and how to achieve it.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, etc.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent).
  • This position is Hybrid - must be available to work onsite (Simi Valley, CA) a minimum of 1-2 days per week.

The salary range for this role is:
$151,449 - $227,173
