Reporting to the VP, Technology, the Director, Technical Program Management is a key part of the organization’s Technology leadership team. We are seeking a passionate leader who has experience delivering enterprise-level software solutions and products in both start-up and large environments.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work directly with the VP Technology, Director of Infrastructure Engineering, Director of Software Engineering and Director of Data Platform Engineering to deliver Virtuoso’s product vision to our customers.
- Build and lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) capable of scaling with Virtuoso’s Product Development teams through continued growth while forging tight partnerships with product managers and engineers.
- Structure a TPM organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team to accommodate growth.
- Lead the TPM team to complete the programs they manage in alignment with the product vision and requirements, providing technical leadership and guidance to team members to achieve goals.
- Lead TPM scope, while identifying and implementing best practices, and gain alignment with product teams on vision, business goals, and program structure.
- Interface and coordinate regularly with VP of Technology, Sr. Director of Product Operations, as well as the Technology Leadership Team to define program objectives, provide status updates, and apply technical and business process expertise to plan complex programs and resolve issues.
- Track and improve efficiency and effectiveness of program processes and set standards for software development lifecycle and product delivery.
- Establish a comprehensive cross-team roadmap reporting structure and toolset, in collaboration with product teams, to enable reporting of software product development milestones, schedules, dependencies and risks to the broader organization.
- Support cross-functional efforts to meet Technical Program needs, anticipating, capturing, and tracking program risks, and working with the organization to develop mitigations for the most critical risks.
- Provide timely notification of any critical risks that manifest, and support mitigation plans to address related issues.
- Define approach to Technical Program achievement, aligned with long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies, decisions, and competitive positioning.
- Interact with direct reports, product managers, engineers, designers, peers in management, customer organizations, Virtuoso Technology Committee, and vendors to improve cross-functional processes and programs.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; Masters degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years Program Management leadership experience
- Highly motivated, results-driven leader with strong management skills, business acumen and technical aptitude
- Experience building, grooming, and mentoring Technical Program Management teams and a proven track record of managing and scaling software projects in a transformative environment
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, proven ability to track and successfully complete complex programs
- Knowledge of Technical Program Management methodologies
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, DataBricks, Synapse, etc.) preferred
- Experience leading teams including career planning, coaching, and development of long-term focused actions plans
- Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy, collaborating with team members across the organization
- Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering Technical Programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience working on complex programs to define and build software products as a platform at scale
- Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platform capabilities and underlying technologies
- Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
- Technical and program expertise that can drive results with agility and leadership
- Ability to quickly drive the conversation toward a productive programmatic solution by including the right people
Travel Requirements:
- Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (1-3 trips per year).
- Travel will be entirely domestic.

- External: This role involves communication with members, partners, and technology contractors/vendors.
