Job Overview

We are looking for a Director of Supplier Quality join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role reports to the Vice President of Quality. The Director for Supplier Quality is responsible to provide leadership, guidance and strategy in all areas related to part quality of TE Sensors's supply base. You will lead a team of supplier quality engineers and closely collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to plan, develop and implement supplier quality standards and best practices for supplier selection, supplier part quality management and ongoing supplier development. You will be responsible to ensure that Suppliers provide quality parts on time and continuously improve their quality, delivery and efficiency of operations. Role and Responsibilities: Provide leadership to the Supplier Quality Engineering Team including the appropriate deployment/hiring of talent, developing standards and specifications, implementing processes and training for current and future Supplier Quality Engineering personnel. Lead the development, implementation and communication of the Supplier Quality organization strategy at TE Sensors. Lead continuous improvement of supplier quality standards/metrics by working with suppliers to ensure product quality amongst supply sources, manufacturing processes, production readiness, and final quality assurance and control Lead problem solving activities whenever part quality issues arise following industry standard root cause and corrective action principles. Closely collaborate with engineering and supply chain to qualify new parts/components following New Supplier and Part Qualification Process, Maintain Supplier Quality Benchmarks, Standards, and Scorecards for internal technical teams, critical suppliers and partners Develop and maintain a reporting process that establishes and maintains metrics and targets used to measure and communicate organizational performance against goal Demonstrate the ability to interface and work collaboratively across departments internally and with suppliers and customers (including R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Finance), while building strong and cooperative working relationships Skills and Experience: More than 15 years of increasing responsibility in the areas of supplier quality management Skilled in communication, problem solving, and applying experience and expertise in an innovative manner Direct Project Management Experience with a proven track record of implementation success Experience in developing and applying quality reporting methodologies. Understand the critical elements of modern Statistical Process Control, (e.g., practical working knowledge and experience with SPC, Process Capability, Cp, Cpk, etc.) Experience in product phase-gate, NPI and technology transfer Drive material quality improvement through supplier manufacturing process using incoming and in-process data gathering and analysis Strong verbal/active listening/written communications Demonstrate strong planning and leadership skills Strong Familiarity with metrology, calibration, Gage R & R, PPAP, GD&T, FMEA Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem solving Ability to effectively work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding work environment Possess a passion for excellence Domestic and international travel required BS, MS or PhD in an Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, Material Science, Reliability, or Systems) 15 years work experience in engineering field 7+years managing engineering teams

Responsibilities

  • Experience with automotive, medical and consumer electronics; preferable semiconductor and backend manufacturing knowledge and experience.
  • 15 + years work experience in engineering field; 7+years managing engineering teams

COMPENSATION
    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $157,600- $236,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
