Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to develop & oversee the operation of the Space Planning and Space Automation process, focusing on enhancing efficiency across the Space Planning and Merchandising team. Manage the Category Planogram Schedule, develop a Space Analysis process, and make recommendations in defining objectives and strategies for merchandising space programs. Additionally, the director validates the quality of Category Planograms, participates in industry share groups, and communicates Space Requirements to ensure effective project resourcing and compliance.
Job Responsibilities
  • Direct & establish the operation of the Space Planning and Space Automation process, focusing on users, planogram hierarchy, data integration, validations, system settings, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency across the Space Planning and Merchandising team.
  • Lead management of the Category Planogram Schedule, ensuring timely communication of project statuses and auditing the responsibilities of direct reports to ensure alignment with established objectives and timelines.
  • Direct and implement a Space Analysis Process & strategy, generating reports and presentations to identify store and planogram opportunities, and disseminate best practices for Space Analysis within the team
  • Lead project meetings to define objectives, strategies, needs, and timing for upcoming merchandising programs, and ensure effective communication and assignment of responsibilities to colleagues and direct reports.
  • Conduct quality validation of Category Floor Plans and Planograms before publication to all Rite Aid stores and departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide coaching and training on Rite Aid Merchandising processes, standards, schedules, and best practices.
  • Participate in industry share groups including the Retailer Space Management Charter and the Relex User Group and communicate learning on best practices, process improvement, and new technology to Rite Aid colleagues and leadership.
  • Communicate Space Requirements and Process to leadership, other departments and colleagues as needed to ensure efficient Merchandising project resourcing, planning, implementation and compliance.
