The Director, Sensory Sciences is responsible to provide sensory support to R&D, Category Management, Sales and Quality Control as needs arise. The Director, Sensory Sciences will provide value to projects and company efforts. The Director, Sensory Sciences will be responsible for directing the Sensory Department and working with cross-functional teams to make business decisions and ensure that company goals/deadlines are being met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define sensory objectives and provide leadership in determining appropriate sensory test strategies and methods that will drive sales and support category growth
- Manage sensory professionals to ensure appropriate sensory protocols are being followed
- Be a key partner with the Technical and Commercial teams on development projects and key matching opportunities
- Lead sensory validation efforts for MANE's technologies and portfolio across all categories
- Strategically lead product mapping, product profiling and flavor profiling studies for both internal and external clients
- Work with global sensory counterparts for organizational alignment
- Train and implement sensory training program to all potential participants (R&D, QC personnel, etc.)
- Present results and key findings to both internal and external audiences
- Implement, execute, and assist with flavor trainings
- Manages and maintains department payroll and budget
- Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree (emphasis in Sensory Science); Advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of flavor / food industry experience with working knowledge in food preparation and / or flavor research and development
