Director of Resident Services

The Village at Brookwood, located in Burlington, North Carolina, is a member of The Well•Spring Group of Greensboro, North Carolina. The Well•Spring Group is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide aging-adult services which create an experience that exceeds the needs of an evolving and diverse population of older adults. The Village at Brookwood offers a full continuum of care services for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care.
Now available is the Director of Resident Services position. In this role, the successful candidate will:
  • Supervise, coordinate, and provide leadership to the resident activities, aquatic and fitness, and transportation teams.
  • Develop one-to-one relationships with residents and families.
  • Develop new partnerships and collaboration and serve as a liaison between community groups and organizations coming onto The Village at Brookwood campus.
  • Facilitate and coordinate volunteers on the campus.
  • Collaborate on the development of programs designed to stimulate and enhance resident well-being. Communicate and Negotiate contracts with performers and other forms of entertainment.
  • Act as a liaison for the various resident committees and provide support for on and off campus events and activities.
  • Act as host/hostess at The Village at Brookwood resident events.
  • Develop and oversee the weekly and monthly resident communications and publications, working with all departments to gather information.
  • Manage the in-house television and resident portal.
  • Maintain and utilize technology for automated group phone calls to residents for announcements and information.
  • Develop and meet annual budgets for community relations and transportation.Participate in creation of long- and short-term goals and strategic initiatives for the department.
  • Effectively balance priorities based on workload, goals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage new resident orientation processes effectively and efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships with organizations, vendors, community groups, associations, churches, charities, and prospective residents to benefit the strategic direction of the department.
  • Assist the Executive Director on special projects, as needed.
  • Participate in resident and family conferences as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments and outside providers to facilitate ways to meet the social, mental, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional needs of residents, including the counselor, social workers, and the chaplain.
  • Communicate updates to the resident handbook.
  • Effectively utilize electronic records and computer applications.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs and assessments.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human service field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and computer system
  • Familiarity with social media and technology
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive residents as needed
  • Good customer service skills
  • Professional, positive, team oriented
  • Empathy and interest in older adults
