Join Cottage Health as the Director, Research Services. The Director, Research Services will be responsible for providing strong leadership to the Cottage Health Research Institute in its support of Cottage Health clinicians with identification and development of clinical research opportunities, post-award management, research compliance, and problem-solving. The Director supports high quality research, customer service excellence and fiscal responsibility while serving as a direct link between the clinical research staff and Hospital leadership. Responsibilities include presenting to internal and external groups on study activations, protocols, and other topics as needed. In addition, the Director serves as a member of the department's leadership team to advise on strategic planning and process improvement. This position reports to the VP of Research.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Research Administration, Healthcare, Business Administration, or other applicable field
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred: Certified Research Administrator or Certified Clinical Research Professional
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum: Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, as well as some database experience. Strong research, analytical, financial, and creative problem-solving skills. Proficient at translating business strategies into solutions, desirably research and analysis programs, and translating client needs to deliverables that can be successfully executed. Knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements for research compliance. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and regulations governing human subjects in research. Expertise in financial management, presentation development, and account planning.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 10 years of experience in clinical trial/sponsored research operations in an academic medical center, or in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or contract research industry. 7 years of experience managing professional/technical staff. Prefer experience in a variety of therapeutic areas and work settings. 5+ years experience with research business strategy, including organizational development and planning, desirably marketing or communications.
Preferred: Experience working with Fortune 500 companies and academic startup in a client service and/or advisory capacity.
