The successful candidate will bring experience in engineering solutions relative to creating distribution center layouts, determining equipment needs and solutions, analyzing productivity, creating pricing models, and optimizing strategies in our current environments. Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in engineering solutions in a third-party logistics company
- Hands on/ Intern experience applying industrial engineering techniques and applications to complete data analysis a significant plus but not required
- Must have 2-5 years minimum experience modeling new business
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of secondary packaging, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of quality and safety concepts is a plus
- Experience with a wide variety of highly technical mechanization/ robotization vendors, equipment and processes is a significant plus but not required
- Travel is required. (typically 25% but in certain circumstances can flex to 40%)
Primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for process of analysis (data, customers' specifications) and technical response on requests for proposal (RFP)
- Partners across multiple departments to develop RFP responses
- Proposes a customized technical solution and sizes the material, human and financial requirements, by ensuring profitability of the solution proposed
- Design and create warehouse layouts for new and existing facilities using AutoCAD
- Identify and manage outside vendors as needed to obtain the best technical solution (specs, pricing, commitments)
- Creates technical presentations in partnership with business development to present to customers
- Participate in presenting solutions to management through written summary and face-to-face (MS Teams) presentations
- Support Business Development in meetings with the customers
- Complete financial analysis using the department's standardized model to project P L results
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through data analysis and present to executive and operational management teams
Additional responsibilities include:
- Develop and integrate targeted solutions with customers and operations management
- Create workflow plans
- Report plans, progress and results on projects and personal development as needed
- Ability to manage priorities and communicate workload and time requirements
- Conduct time studies and lead actions to ensure deadlines
- Determine productivity numbers
- Continually re-evaluate work process for productivity improvements
