This is a remote position for an individual to work within the United States during EST hours.
While leading program managers, who in turn lead teams of project managers, the Director, Program Management oversees HEPACO’s national emergency response and waste management services across the United States.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for implementation of customer programs and program management for both national emergency spill response and waste management programs
- Ensures the department teams are timely supporting customers, account managers and operations in securing and retaining business.
- Proactively works with Sales, Operations and other company departments on contracting, pricing, scheduling, technical support and transportation issues.
- Evaluates customer perceptions of HEPACO service and recommends value added changes to senior leadership.
- Develops department training programs and processes across facilities.
- Coordinates with Accounting and other departments to ensure accurate and quality billing.
- Acts as interface with customers to ensure customers’ needs and expectations are being met.
- Monitors department representatives’ performance, demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity to company policies.
- Ensures proper staffing levels are maintained.
- Determines customer service policies and protocols, in coordination with operations and sales.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency in workflow and project management.
- Analyzes available information and recommends responses to complaints, considering nature and complexity, requirements, potential corrective actions.
- Participates in project evaluations and prepares inclusive quotes that may include: scope of work, price estimates and contingencies.
- Evaluates department operations to control costs and maintain competitive position.

Requirements:
- At least five (5) years of applicable industry experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, Emergency Management, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
- Direct hazardous material response experience.
- Experience with RCRA, OSHA and DOT Regulations.
- HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, OSHA training certificates.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for working with clients and internal teams.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to orchestrate large volumes of data while meeting critical deadlines.
- Strong change management skills and the ability to work in a team environment to accomplish common goals.
- Ability to handle a high call volume and remain calm in a fast-paced environment dealing with emergency response calls and other stressful situations.
- Advanced skills in MS-Office software such as Word, Excel and other project management software.
