This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Director, People Experience is responsible for all aspects of the employee journey. This includes designing and implementing programs and initiatives to ensure employees are connected to the firm’s culture, engaged in their role and team, and remain motivated to contribute to the firm’s success and objectives. Essential job functions include:

  • Lead efforts in designing, implementing, and continuously improving programs and initiatives that enhance the overall employee journey.
  • Lead projects, programs, and initiatives that create an exceptional employee experience and that contribute to the employee value proposition, culture, growth, and employee retention.
  • Support the future of work and the overall business strategy by helping to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
  • Champion the organization’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in all aspects of the employee experience.
  • Create and implement initiatives that attract, engage, and retain a diverse and high-performing workforce.
  • Collaborate with the extended People Team to improve the employee experience by influencing new ways of working through key projects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the extended People Team to drive a growth mindset culture through onboarding, performance, team development, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape a workplace environment that promotes employee well-being, engagement, and productivity.
  • In partnership with the CPO and organizational leadership, anticipate talent needs, gather requirements, and recommend and implement best-in-class talent management initiatives, programs, and processes, track and report on results.
  • Design and implement initiatives that enable and support team members and leaders to help achieve success for our clients.
  • Partner with leaders to create succession planning initiatives and talent development pathways to support employee growth and organizational health.
  • Provide direction on performance management systems and analyze performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in talent management processes.
  • Gather feedback and insights that inform engagement drivers, culture, retention, and employment-related needs through multiple feedback channels; create a feedback loop with leaders that provide actionable insights.
  • Lead through influence as a change champion to elevate and enhance the employee experience in practice, systems/technology/AI, processes, etc.
  • Understand employee opinions and experiences; provide a point of view and anticipate needs so concerns can be addressed proactively, and the team can focus on solutions to improve the employee experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or related field required; Industry certifications preferred.
  • 10 years’ progressive expertise in related area required; substantial experience leading company‐wide initiatives within a multi‐office setting required, preferably in a professional services firm environment.
  • Experience working with senior leadership to make recommendations or build consensus.
  • Thorough knowledge of organizational culture and talent needs, including trends and best practices.
  • Content development, strategic planning, budget planning and implementation, project management, database management, report writing, and/or event planning experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of all MS Office products strongly preferred
  • Ability to become proficient in the Firm’s Document Management System.
  • Ability to effectively lead and strengthen a team to deliver high performance and ensure initiatives are effectively and efficiently delivered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Proven success in creating clarity and consistency in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
  • Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and effectively drive new initiatives in partnership with other firm departments
  • Ability to work after hours, as needed.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and events, as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $167,000 - $319,000
  • State of Colorado: $154,000 - $274,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $181,000 - $328,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $167,000 - $319,000
  • State of New York: $155,000 - $335,000
  • State of Washington: $162,000 - $307,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance. Full-time employees receive benefits including: medical and dental coverage; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability insurance; pre-tax flexible spending account for certain medical and dependent care expenses; an employee assistance program; Paid Time Off; paid holidays; participation in a retirement plan program after meeting eligibility requirements; and more.
