Skills & Requirements
- Required bachelor's degree with a preferred master's degree business or healthcare administration
- Required 3 years Supervisory experience and 5 years total experience in a healthcare or related service industry
- Manages the Central Scheduling functions ensuring all key processes are aligned with the goals and objectives of the IDS. Responsible for developing standards of performance for staff that are measured, reported, and addressed.
- Resolves patient scheduling problems by consulting with physicians, other Hospital departments, insurance companies, attorneys, and governmental agencies.
- Directs key processes by monitoring and reporting performance statistics and explaining variances and adjustments when made.
- Coordinates and/or directs process improvement projects for the Patient Access and Central Scheduling functions. Ensures that key processes are prioritized, measured, and reported to Vice President of Revenue Cycle.
- Participate in Hospital, departmental, and IDS network initiatives such as IRIS implementation.
- Updates and/or establishes central scheduling policies and procedures to ensure that the Hospital is compliant with governmental regulations, accrediting bodies, and other statutes.
- Reviews accounts recommended for write-off to identify performance issues and ensure that uncompensated care is minimized.
- Meets regularly with direct reports and staff to keep them informed and up to date with matters that impact on their areas of responsibility.
