Position: Director, Partnership Development

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports to: COO & Chief Data Scientist

Date: March 2024

MISSION: Futuro Health launched in 2020 to address the critical shortage of workers in the healthcare sector. Our nonprofit mission is to improve the health and wealth of communities by growing the largest network of allied healthcare workers in the nation. Initially funded by a $130 million investment from Kaiser Permanente through a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU-UHW, Futuro Health has since grown to have a portfolio of funders, grants and contracts to do our work that is life changing. Every year, thousands of diverse adults become Futuro Health Scholars and pursue training to earn their credentials for a wide array of in-demand allied healthcare roles. Position Summary:

Directs the organization's identification, development, and management of strategic partnerships with other organizations to realize key objectives, gain operational efficiencies, address unmet market needs, and create new partnerships and markets. Directs research to identify business opportunities, conduct due diligence, and develop plans and strategies for new alliances. Negotiates with new partners to formalize alliances and relationships. Implements partnerships with stakeholders across the organization. Monitors results and outcomes to develop ongoing methods to optimize the value of alliances.

New product extension:

  • Define new product line(s) that leverage existing Futuro Health-owned assets (e.g., digital platform, training content, etc.)
  • Demonstrate proof of concept and ascertain market viability/potential
  • Define go to market strategy and business model (e.g., pricing, direct/indirect sales channel, customer support, etc.)
  • Create the enabling operational end-to-end workflows within the organization including but not limited to business development and product delivery
  • Build a team commensurate with new revenues generated
  • Execute a smooth hand off to an internal champion for further scaling and to institutionalize

Enterprise client initiatives:

  • Cultivate a multitude of enterprise relationships until a mutually beneficial initiative is defined in the partnership
  • Ensure internal stakeholder commitment and understanding of the initiative(s)
  • Define execution requirements and embed accountability into Futuro Health’s operations; document standard operating procedures
  • Manage the initiative’s execution directly; hiring staff if budgeted or transition initiative into another division within Futuro Health for full execution.

Resource Development:

  • Identify, prioritize, cultivate grant, funding and/or contract opportunities.

Other Duties as Assigned

Essential Functions:

1. Strategic Leadership: Incubate new product line extensions to grow the organization’s revenue and impact.

2. Product/Service Design and Development: Leverage Futuro Health’s assets, standardize offerings to be sustainable and that benefit employers/funder and impact the community while covering cost.

3. Relationship Management: Cultivate end-client and/or other partnerships. Attend client and prospect meetings.

4. Operational Excellence and Accountability: Deliver with excellence on newly signed contract/grant obligations. Operational accountability for executing on workforce development programs, executing on initiatives, building teams, engaging partners, closing on business development opportunities, and taking concepts to reality.

5. Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of professionals, providing clear direction and support to achieve team and organizational goals.

6. Product and Service Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and client needs and competitive landscape.

7. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that all services and solutions provided adhere to relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.

8. Financial Management: Develop financial forecasts and manage budgets.

9. Contract Negotiations: Secure terms and conditions supportive of product line extension.

10. Performance Metrics: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for organization and clients to track and report on progress, regularly providing insights to the executive team.

11. Project Management: Lead the execution of major projects. Liaison with stakeholders. Includes providing oversight for vendors and partners on deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years depth of experience in project management, workforce development, business development and/or product development. Healthcare clientele or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong track record of generating new revenue and managing budgets. Desire to run a P&L.
  • Prior experience incubating new product lines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and program management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing industry landscape.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Grant writing experience and proficiency a plus.

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will have supervisory responsibility over staff over time, although not initially.

Work Environment/Travel:

This is a remote role. Travel will be required to attend meetings and conferences.

Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand, and type for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work irregular hours including after hours and weekends although this will be infrequent.

Position Type: This position is full-time. The hours may include weekends, nights and holidays.
