Job description

Growing financial consulting business, Equitable Value LLC (www.equitable.expert), is in need of a Valuation Manager or Director. Valuation Managers are experts in performing valuations of privately held business and in managing the work of others to complete engagements. Valuation Directors are more senior to Valuation Managers and may have testifying and business development experience.

This fully remote position reports directly to the CEO and is ideal for a financial professional who enjoys interesting and challenging work, has great attention to detail, and the ability to process and translate complex financial and legal information for clients, legal professionals, and courts. As a Valuation Manager/Director, you will play a leadership role in valuation engagements, overseeing and collaborating on all aspects of the valuation and forensic accounting process. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of valuation methodologies.

Equitable Value works in litigations, such as divorce proceedings, for some of the largest and most complex personal estates and businesses around the world. In addition to business valuation services, the Valuation Manager/Director will also work on related forensic accounting analyses (e.g., tracing hidden funds in divorce proceedings, preparing settlement schedules, etc.) in the context of our clients’ litigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee valuation engagements
• Collaborate internally with experienced financial analysts and paralegal professionals on complex projects, providing guidance, review, and support to ensure timely and accurate completion of Valuations
• Ensure valuations include all relevant data and information, building comprehensive and well-informed analyses
• Review and summarize complex financial and legal documents for clients and legal professionals
• Review and validate valuation reports and calculations
• Conduct and review thorough market research and analysis to support valuation conclusions and recommendations
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of valuation reports to internal stakeholders, clients, and attorneys
• Continuously assess and improve valuation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in trial preparation
• Lead interviews and meetings with clients and business owners
• Maintain meticulous notes and records for each case
• Help refine and continually update valuation processes, procedures, and templates
• Stay informed about market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments that may impact valuations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in valuation
• Strong proficiency Microsoft Word and Excel
• High attention to detail with a professional demeanor in communication
• Excellent writing and copyediting skills
• Forensic accounting knowledge and experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with SharePoint and other Microsoft solutions (a plus)
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (MBA, CFA, ASA, CPA, CBA, CVA, CDFA, CPVA) or progress toward such distinctions are preferred
• Proven experience in valuation, with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial/leadership role either directly overseeing employees and/or leading valuations with limited oversight
• Ability to work independently on multiple engagements
• Experience with testifying a strong asset
• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, financial analysis, and accounting principles
• Experience with valuations for litigation a strong plus
• Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to valuations
• Proficient in the use of valuation software and tools
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Benefits

• Compensation will be based on experience
• $110,000-$150,000 base salary plus significant quarterly bonuses based upon individual and firm-wide performance with final offer commensurate with experience
• In addition to base and bonus, profit sharing on revenue generation
