Job description

About the Position: The Director, Water Safety is responsible for the sustainable growth and further development of GWT’s Water Safety (“WS”) business unit nationally, with a focus on revenue, quality, and capabilities. This role requires an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of WS best practices, current rules and regulations, and how to stay current with the industry and the ever-changing regulatory environment. The Director, WS will orchestrate resources of the business unit and coordinate with leaders and staff within GWT’s Water & Energy Services (“W&E”) group to ensure the execution of contractual obligations, profitable contract and project performance, and technical and regulatory performance of proposed solutions. The position is also charged with the management, development, and training of personnel within the department to ensure that the Company’s growth and sustainability objectives, related to WS, are achieved. Alongside, the position will be responsible for partnering with W&E leaders to make sure field W&E staff are adequately trained and supported to facilitate the cross selling, maintenance, and execution of WS solutions in regions across the country. This leadership role must guarantee that GWT’s core values and mission statement are being delivered to customers, promoting high client satisfaction and retention through achievement of client goals, always. This achievement is evidenced by high-quality water management plans, test reports, and recommendations made to new and existing customers.
Furthermore, candidates for this position should have a strong propensity to excel in an extremely competitive industry and within a fast-growing company, where team success is paramount to achieving the short-term and long-term goals. The Director, WS should have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the WS and water hygiene sector, and ideally have experience in employee and team management. Travel is necessary and encouraged, however the amount is determined by the Director based on the team and client needs.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional leadership, knowledge, and effort towards the implementation and management of GWT’s current and existing Water Management Plans

*

Maintain, continually develop, and implement comprehensive water management plans for current and future customers of GWT

*

Utilize GWT’s online platform for water management plan development, monitoring and management

  • Manage as a leader with unwavering ethics, integrity, and related personal attributes who will inspire team members to develop to their fullest potential
  • Participate in meetings and events as a strong “Global Water Technology brand representative” and interface with existing clients & prospects: Internal: contract governance / External: business chambers, executive summits of key water treatment sectors / Events - Expand WOI to support company goals

Manage, hire, recruit, grow and develop a team of new and established WS professionals

*

Conduct regular performance reviews and performance management conversations with all staff in a manner that documents the progress towards predetermined goals and milestones

*

Assist in the success of individual team members by helping to develop attainable personal professional goals, along with short- and long-term strategic growth goals, and the steps to achieve these goals

*

Provide technical WS sales training to help foster success in the development and achievement of individual team members and the business unit

*

Earn and/or maintain your ASSE 12080 while encouraging team members to work towards the achievement of earning the same designation

*

Create an environment that fosters team-based selling, account management and technical collaboration

*

Develop relationships within the operating regions nationally with key businesses that provide partnership opportunities

*

Support all Business Development activities related to WS

*

Foster the development of Water and Energy personnel regarding their ability and desire to sell and administer WS plans

*

Attend trade organizations and encourage team members to get involved

*

Support key account management, ensuring profitability and program success

*

Utilize the resources of GWT’s Inside Sales department to improve sales funnel velocity, the quality of sales presentation materials, and the level of follow up through the sales process

*

Foster a safe work environment by following all established GWT Safety Procedures which includes, but are not limited to utilizing Personal Protective Equipment and incident reporting processes

*

Support the business development team in closing key new WS accounts through active participation in generating leads and conducting technical surveys for the purpose of generating proposals

*

Participate in key WS startup, kick off and closure meetings to ensure customer expectations have been met and aligned for long term management

*

Participate and create content related to WS for company meetings and events

*

Participate in innovation projects to ensure that the GWT WS offering is well differentiated from marketplace competitors

*

Lead customer training sessions designed to improve customer awareness and knowledge of GWT WS program essentials and to improve customer commitment to caring for water in their facilities
