Director Of Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Handi-Crafters is looking for a highly motivated person to fill the position of Director ofRehabilitation Services.

Position Summary: This position is integral to the Mission of Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center. The Director of Rehabilitation provides essential leadership over the Vocational Rehabilitation Program and is responsible for the oversight, compliance, training and the cohesive coordination of case management activities required to successfully support and drive outcomes for individuals receiving vocational services and employment supports.

Qualifications:

Education: Preferred - Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation, Counseling or a related field

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working directly with disabled persons. At least two (2) years of which was spent in a supervisory position. History of work in landscape of the Office of Developmental Programs, a plus.

Special Training/Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic computer proficiency; proficiency in counseling and case management techniques; knowledge of supervisory practices.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally the individual will be required to stand or walk. Job Relationships: Responsible to: Executive Director.

Staff Supervised: Vocational Evaluator and Program Specialists

Interrelationships: Work collaboratively with other members of agency’s management team, referring agencies, funding sources and family members

Responsibilities:

• Manage, guide, train and maintain Department personnel
• Develop short and long range plans for the Rehabilitation Department in coordination with the regulations and agency’s philosophy and goals
• Oversee, and maintain State and Federal regulatory compliance
• Contribute to developing policy and procedures in alignment with State and Federal regulations.
• Identify and recommend staff development opportunities beneficial to the case management, progression and enrichment of Vocational skill development.
• Supervise records to assure organizational compliance, documentation, and confidentiality
• Oversee and participate in the agency’s referral and intake process.
• Actively participate in outreach and recruitment activities
• Act as liaison with regulatory agents, other providers, families/guardians
• Identify and implement service opportunities to track data and drive vocational outcomes in accordance with organizational goals and community needs.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, and training to maintain best practices and industry trends
• Drive positive collaboration within the agency
• Prepare, track, submit, and maintain all required reports and documents
• Undertake committee participation, special assignments or projects as needed
• Monitor and provide data on applications such as: HICSIS, LEIE, SAM and DPW’s Medicheck
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary
