Primary Responsibilities:
- Plans, implements, directs and evaluates the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state and local regulations.
- Evaluates resident and staff needs, and provides the Administrator and Director of Nursing Service with comprehensive recommendations concerning the educational needs of all facility personnel.
- Interprets and implements established facility policies, procedures and regulations to all facility personnel.
- Prepares lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction and method of evaluation for each class scheduled and completed.
- Assumes accountability for all data contained in the personnel policy manual.
Prerequisites:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing - RN required.
- Current registration in Massachusetts.
- RNBS desirable, graduation from accredited 3 year program or RNAC acceptable.
- Formal preparation and/or experience in training of adult groups preferred.
- At least 3 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse.
- Knowledge of Restorative Nursing Practices preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Knowledge of growth and development across the life span required.
