Role:

As a DIRECTOR OF SOTWARE ENGINEERING (APIs & Integrations) reporting directly to the CTO,you will be responsible for setting the technical direction, building a world-class engineering team, and ensuring the successful delivery of our external APIs and data integration solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology stack and the way we help our partners and customers transform and accelerate their businesses. This includes the analysis and enhancement of existing services and the design and development of new software architectures and systems with a focus on scale so we can continue to deliver best in class performance to a rapidly growing customer base.

Responsibilities:

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to guide the development and execution of API development and partner integrations.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Software engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust and scalable API and integration solutions.
• Establish and maintain high-quality development standards and best practices.
• Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of new software products based on requirements.
• Address systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform requirements.
• Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects and provide technical expertise.
• Advise on options, impact on other business processes, and system priorities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in the retirement and/or recordkeeping industry, with a strong preference for expertise in IRA, 401k and other retirement vehicles
• Proficiency in file transfer, EDI, ACH, Wire, or other information exchange types
• Experience working with large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Expertise in automatic cash reconciliation systems.
• Proficiency with the following software and frameworks:
  1. Spring Boot framework
  2. Apache Camel
  3. Cypher query Language
  4. RabbitMQ
  5. Activiti Workflow Engine

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of Software Engineering experience with a strong focus on API and integration development.

• 5+ years of recent full-time, hands-on professional experience programming in Java/J2EE.

• Proven experience in leading and managing multiple Software Engineering teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, and integration technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering complex technical projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Must be US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible to work in the US permanently
