We are responsible for shaping the perception of the brand through content, creative and messaging. Our global team of world-class researchers, engineers, strategists, and data scientists work with our Security Research team to deliver actionable intelligence, produce insights for the community, and increase engagement to create a secure online world while building the brand as a leader.

We are looking for a cybersecurity content marketing leader who is passionate about creating research-based content that elevates our brand, works with ease with threat researchers and media alike to land the most captivating stories, and measures results to ensure the highest return on investments.
As a Director Marketing, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of research writers and data scientists to deliver results to advance credibility and leadership
- Pioneering groundbreaking, audience-centric editorial and content strategies to acquire new readers, and build brand loyalty
- Leveraging research and advanced SEO to understand what resonates with audiences, and define content areas to expand
- Driving new and creative communications vehicles for content
- Collaborating to deliver a holistic Security Research content strategy and editorial plan; present to executives on results
- Representing the company for Security Research findings/content at Akamai and larger industry events and with the media
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 10 years experience and Master's degree in marketing, communications, or specialization in cybersecurity and security
- Demonstrate leadership and people management experience
- Demonstrate experience with strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, public speaking, project management, planning and organization
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on outcomes and ability to manage to key performance indicators
- Have an understanding of multicultural cybersecurity trends, insights, passion points and media content consumption behaviors
- Have a passion for data storytelling, an eye on industry trends, and a lot of creativity

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $100,980 - $150,909/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
