The Director of Security is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Security operations within our luxury hotel, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests, employees, and property. This individual will develop and implement security policies and procedures, lead a team of Security professionals, and collaborate with other departments to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The Director of Security will also be responsible for managing crisis situations and emergencies, providing leadership and support to ensure a swift and effective response.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures that align with the hotel's values and meet industry standards, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property.
- Lead and manage a team of Security professionals, including security officers, supervisors, and other security personnel, ensuring they are properly trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments, including front desk, housekeeping, and facilities, to identify and address security vulnerabilities and implement security measures that enhance the guest experience.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of Security systems and equipment, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarms, to ensure they are functioning properly and meet security requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as local law enforcement, security agencies, and vendors, to enhance security capabilities and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and respond to security incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations, providing leadership and support to ensure a swift and effective response.
- Develop and manage a budget for security operations, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and used efficiently.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and innovations in security, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance security capabilities and stay ahead of potential threats.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the hotel's security program, promoting its unique features and benefits to guests and stakeholders.
Required Experience:
- Well versed with Microsoft Office, emergency management, surveillance, and other security management systems
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in criminal justice, security management, or related fields – preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strengths must include multi-tasking, problem resolution, and customer relations.
- Must have the ability to bring, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
- Must be committed to upholding high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
