Job Description
- Concepts is looking for an efficient producing Director of Sales who has been successful in the hospitality industry and knowledgeable of the event market in Houston. The Director of Sales will be highly motivated to increase sales and effectively lead in their market. They will be attracted to the hip culture and entrepreneurial environment that FreeRange Concepts offer. They will bring an innovative sales mentality to the company that will further set, achieve, and smash sales goals for the multiple venues in their market.
Expectations/Responsibilities
- Develops and executes SMART Action Plans for all venues in the market. Recognize need periods and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Responsible for bringing in new business and building new relationships. This will include but not be limited to solicitation calls, networking with industry peers and attending industry events.
- Maintain positive interdepartmental relations.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Understand market trends for various periods and adjust selling strategy accordingly to meet/exceed goals.
- Approaches the position with a relationship building/proactive selling mindset.
- Ensures that weekly solicitation goals are met through phone calls and outside sale calls.
- Develops instore marketing plan regarding event sales.
- Utilizes available business tools to prospect for new business (i.e., Brand database reports, local newspaper and business journals).
- Performs the necessary pre-call planning and post-call follow-up for client outside sales calls.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable regarding client base.
- Develops a strong business relationship with high volume clients to compound business.
- Utilizes internal lead source generators and cross-sells the brands.
- Gains contacts and business intelligence and shows community spirit through involvement in industry and/or charitable organizations.
- Monitors economic/business news in general and news specific to assigned market segments.
- Maintains awareness of the sales practices of the competitive set and creates SWAT analyze to understand how to leverage your brand over the competitor.
- Ensures that all reports, internal requests for information and special projects are submitted on or before their due dates.
- Maintains accurate information in Tripleseat related to all events, including revenue and closing procedures to ensure proper reporting.
- Creates and executes BEOs, Contracts and other internal documents.
- Understands the business rationale behind the annual budgeting process as well as continues forecasting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a strong producer in a high-volume sales role.
- Possesses contacts in the industry and a book of business.
- Leadership experience.
- High energy culture fit.
- Diverse event experience, both small and large events.
- Confident in their ability to lead, produce, and grow the market.
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal, including group presentations.
- Ability to accommodate a schedule based on high volume event sales; required to work weekends and late nights, along with daytime office hours.
- Willing to perform other assigned duties as needed.
- Track record of success with consistently meeting/exceeding assigned goals.
- Track record of building and maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated history of soliciting potential group event business with a heavy emphasis on the local corporate market.
- Ability to effectively influence others and engage clients and coworkers on difficult issues.
- Financial analysis skills with the ability to assess potential business opportunities and whether they contribute to the success of the business.
- Ability to inspire confidence in and gain respect from superiors, peers, subordinates, industry partners and competitors.
- Combines a confident, self-starting, highly motivated, high performance orientation with track record that reflects a “can do” attitude.
- Enjoys interacting with customers and networking within the industry.
