Position Overview

As the Sales Manager at Sourgum, you will lead the charge in rapidly scaling our national sales operations. Your primary responsibilities include spearheading the development and implementation of effective sales strategies, managing and expanding our sales team, and driving significant revenue growth. You will guide a diverse team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), Account Executives (AEs), and Account Managers (AMs), targeting mid-market to enterprise-level customers across three key service segments.

You’ll play a crucial role in mentoring team members, refining sales processes, and steering our strategic direction. Requirements

Who You Are

  • You absolute must have a strong work ethic, a relentless drive, and a willingness to undertake every aspect of the sales process, from initial prospecting to the final close.
  • You must be customer obsessed, tech-enabled, and comfortable with tech/product feedback.
  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets consistently.
  • Ability to commute into our Jersey City, NJ office.
  • Desire to gain a deep understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Must have a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Understanding of Sales metrics and data-informed decision making.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Prepared to embrace both high-level strategy and detail-oriented tasks to achieve comprehensive results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales management tools.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

What You'll Work On

  • Gain a deep understanding of Sourgum’s products, services, and customer base by selling directly to them.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve/exceed sales targets and expand Sourgum’s customer base.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance of the sales team, including SDRs, AEs, and AMs.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set individual performance goals accordingly.
  • Monitor and analyze sales activity against goals and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and industry partners.
  • Prepare detailed sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, areas of proposed client base expansion, and other analyses to company leadership.
  • Work closely with marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage sales budgets and forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue.
  • Ensure the sales team has the necessary resources and tools to perform effectively.
  • Stay informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
  • Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment of high performance to meet sales targets.
