Job Summary: As the Director of Hotel Catering (Sales), you will be responsible for driving the sales efforts related to catering services within the hotel. Your primary goal will be to maximize revenue and achieve business targets by developing and implementing strategic sales plans. This role requires strong leadership skills, relationship-building abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy: You will create and implement a strategic sales plan to increase catering revenue and market share.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities: You will identify target markets and potential clients, actively seeking out new business opportunities.
Build and maintain client relationships: You will build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding coordinators, and other potential customers.
Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities: Regular market research will be conducted to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Collaborate with marketing department: You will work closely with the marketing department to create compelling sales collateral and promotional materials.
Lead high-performing sales team: As a leader, you will provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to a catering sales team.
Establish sales goals and quotas: You will set sales goals and quotas for the team and monitor progress towards achieving targets.
Plan and coordinate sales activities: You will plan and coordinate sales activities, including site visits, client meetings, and industry events.
Prepare and negotiate sales proposals and contracts: You will prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely and accurate contract execution.
Collaborate with culinary and operations teams: You will work closely with the culinary and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of catering events.
Analyze sales data and financial reports: You will regularly review and analyze sales data and financial reports to identify areas for improvement and revenue growth.
Maximize cross-selling opportunities: Collaboration with other hotel departments, such as banquets and event planning, will be important to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
Stay updated on industry best practices: You will stay updated on industry best practices by attending relevant conferences and networking events.
Maintain high customer satisfaction: Ensuring prompt addressing of customer concerns and providing exceptional service will be crucial for maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Minor Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the catering department.
- Maintain accurate and updated client databases and sales records.
- Prepare regular sales reports for management.
Qualifications for the Job:
- Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification in Business Administration or sales and marketing preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of banquet or meeting planner experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to adapt to consistently changing conditions.
