About Us: Our residential treatment program provides hope for clients suffering from mental health and substance use disorders, helping them ensure sustained recovery. Located in beautiful Deerfield Beach, LifeSkills provides a secure and nurturing atmosphere for balanced recovery and healing. 
Residential treatment program clients live in fully furnished townhomes that are professionally staffed 24-hours a day. This realistic, home-like setting allows residents to adapt their new coping skills within the local community and practice their daily routines while taking part in the therapeutic process. In our residential treatment program, we help our clients successfully transition back into their homes, family lives, and careers with newfound self-esteem, direction, and control.

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing daily administration of the Residential programs. Will work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team ensuring that professional and compassionate care be provided. Responsible for management of Residential staff as well as oversight of direct client care.

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization:  Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clients, Management, Clinical Leadership, facility leadership, peers and vendors. 

Outside the organization:  Initiates and maintains working relationships with outpatient providers, clinical providers, referral partners, families and vendors as needed.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for program development and improvement as well as oversight/management of Residential staff (BHTs).
  2. Responsible for enforcing policies and procedures in both clinical and management capacities.
  3. Responsible for ensuring that compliance standards are met regarding documentation and client care in accordance with industry standards and accreditation requirements and will address any compliance issues.
  4. Coordinates clinical staffing schedules to maximize efficiency while maintaining program integrity, quality and efficiency.
  5. Assists in recruiting and interview process.
  6. Responsible for full clinical and administrative training of new staff
  7. Facilitates new client orientations.
  8. Assists with the admissions process.
  9. Assists with the insurance utilization review process, when needed.
  10. Provides direct client care including individual psychotherapy, group therapy and family therapy as census and/or staffing requires.
  11. Responsible for assisting primary therapists with maintaining contact with the referring/outpatient therapist/team during the course of the client's stay and the family when/if appropriate. 
  12. Assist in providing clinical updates and creates weekly treatment team updates.
  13. Attends group meetings, meals and other activities in the milieu to better establish a relationship with clients.
  14. Provides comprehensive understanding of current behaviors and relational dynamics while using a variety of therapeutic modalities.
  15. Attends the weekly treatment team meetings and share observations, comments and important information about clients with the treatment team and provides input into the development of the weekly schedules for all of his/her assigned clients. 
  16. Responsible for proper charting and ensuring that all documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner (within 24 hours).
  17. Assists in meal/snack supervision as assigned and attends special occasion activities for the clients.
  18. Assists with discharge planning, including a written discharge summary and obtaining referral sources and necessary support systems once the client is discharged.
  19. Assists with executing concurrent insurance reviews, advocating for client to obtain appropriate levels and continuing care as needed.
  20. Follows level-of-care and medical necessity guidelines as established by peer reviewed criteria, including APA and managed care organizations.
  21. Coordinates and/or perform doctor to doctor reviews between Shoreline and managed care organizations.
  22. Performs crisis intervention as necessary.
  23. Develops and creates group material, as needed.
  24. Assists with professional outreach, networking and marketing.
  25. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to LifeSkills' and population.
  26. Completes any additional tasks assigned my direct supervisors (Clinical Director and Executive Director)

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Functions within the guidelines of the facility's Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
  2. Assists in promoting and ensuring that the mission, goals and objectives of Shoreline are understood and actively supported by the employees. 
  3. Provides a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Accomplishes organization mission by completing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, 3 to 5 Years mental health experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers, clients and/or vendors.
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building.
  • Performs duties that require the employee to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • May sit or remain stationary for periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds.

Other Requirements

Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
