Blue Diamond Industries is looking to add a Director of Qualityto the team, this position will be located in Clinton, SC but responsible for quality in multiple locations throughout the United States.
The Director of Quality Control will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organizations production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Essential Duties
- Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements, ASTM, UL & internal specifications with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
- Defining quality standards and ensuring that all deliverables are of high quality and meet all regulatory, local and client needs.
- Direct the collection and analysis of Quality data to identify improvement opportunities while working with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support current business and future growth.
- Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within the manufacturing processes and identification of better ways of working.
- Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
- Lead and facilitate lean/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
- Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
- Take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal CA and controls while developing annual goals for the manufacturing sites pertaining to quality.
- Administer and respond to customer product deficiency complaints conducting objective, thorough analysis addressing root causes and oversees this function for all manufacturing locations.
- Elicit requirements and drive process change using staff interviews, documented analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits etc.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Understands Six Sigma, lean and value stream mapping.
- A “completer-finisher’ taking accountability for the ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
- Experience in designing and implementing a framework of continuous improvement, hands on implementation and lean solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of personnel ranging from managers to production staff.
- PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) experience to address efficiency issues
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States, to other facilities.
- Strong analytical, project and product management skills, including thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operations requirements.
- Must be willing and able to work in both office and manufacturing factory environments.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering related field
- Minimum accredited Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Minimum 5 years of proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role including project management and business analysis.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
