Director - Corporate Quality Assurance
Applied Technical Services is seeking to add a senior Quality Assurance leader who will have ownership of our enterprise-wide QA team and is a key contributor to ATS's operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Applied Technical Services, LLC ("ATS" or the "Company") is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The Company serves clients across a diverse set of large and stable end markets including manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical, and defense. ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 1,800 team members in over 70 locations across the United States.
The Director - Corporate Quality Assurance will play a pivotal role in driving and ensuring operational excellence across all business segments. This key leadership position will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Quality Assurance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to drive world-class operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in quality management, a passion for process optimization, and a proven track record of delivering tangible business results.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Quality Leadership:
• Ownership of ATS's comprehensive corporate quality strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide visionary leadership to the Quality Assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Communicate strategy, initiatives, and value across all levels of the organization.
2. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
• Implement data-driven approaches to monitor and measure key performance indicators, driving improvements based on insights.
• Lead and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce defects, and increase overall efficiency.
3. Quality Assurance Oversight:
• Establish and maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures across all business units.
• Develop and maintain a robust Quality Assurance program, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Support regular audits and maintain the existing ISO 9001 certification, ISO 17025 (A2LA) accreditations, 10CFR50 Appendix B and vendor approvals
4. Business Unit Support:
• Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to understand their unique quality requirements and challenges.
• Provide expert guidance and support to business units in achieving and maintaining high-quality standards.
Required Experience and Skills:
• Four-year degree (preferably Bachelor of Science) from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of ten years' experience in Quality Systems administration.
• Proven experience in a senior quality management role within a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge Of Quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated success in leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Considerable knowledge of applicable Quality Assurance processes and procedures (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, 10CFR50 Appendix B).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Data-driven decision-making skills and proficiency in using quality metrics for performance analysis.
• Ability to travel (occasional).
