JOB DESCRIPTION
Providence is seeking an energetic, service-oriented, self-starter with a passion for the mission and vision of Providence. This position will report to and work with the Student Excellence Center Director. The Director of Career Services and Post-Graduate Success is crucial in shaping career development and internship opportunities for Providence college students. This leadership position involves strategic planning, collaboration with employers, faculty, and students, and overseeing the development and implementation of programs that enhance students' readiness for the workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in career services, a keen understanding of industry trends, and the ability to foster partnerships that create meaningful internship experiences for students.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for career services and internships aligned with the institution's mission, goals, and student outcomes.
- To inform the evaluation of program relevance, its future development, and stay informed about labor market trends, industry needs, and emerging career paths.
- Career Counseling and Advising:
- Provide career counseling and guidance to students individually and through workshops.
- Assist students with graduate school placements.
- Seek additional articulation agreements with graduate programs and maintain the current agreements.
- Assist students in identifying and articulating their career goals, values, and skills.
- Collaborate with Academics to integrate career development into the curriculum.
- Employer Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers to expand student internship and job opportunities.
- Collaborate with industry partners to develop internship programs and other experiential learning opportunities.
- Organize networking events, career fairs, and employer information sessions.
- Implement and maintain job board subscriptions and access for students.
- Assist with the Summer Bridge Program
- Internship Program Management:
- Oversee the development and management of internship programs, ensuring they align with academic requirements and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain a database of internship opportunities for students.
- Give guidance to students in securing and making the most of internship experiences.
- Professional Development Workshops:
- Develop and deliver workshops on resume writing, interview skills, job searching, and other career-related topics.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate career development components into academic programs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data related to career services and internship outcomes.
- Prepare reports on placement rates, employer satisfaction, and other relevant metrics.
- Update and maintain portions of the Providence Christian College public website related to career services and post-graduate success
Qualifications:
- BA with experience or a Master's degree in counseling, higher education, business, or a related field
- Proven experience in career services, workforce development, or a related area
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry trends, labor market demands, and emerging careers
- Experience in program development and management.
- Familiarity with internship program administration and best practices
- Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and employers.
- Possible adjunct faculty role for qualified individuals
