Director of Nursing Services
Park View Post Acute is currently seeking a talented and detail oriented Director of Nursing Services. Park View Post Acute is not your average sleepy nursing home. We are an active 116 bed facility with both long term residents and short-term rehab patients with several admissions and discharges every week. Responsibilities
Included, but not limited too…
- Manages and directs all aspects of the Nursing Services Department.
- Makes rounds to ensure that nursing personnel perform their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Communicates information to nursing personnel regarding new resident admissions and resident discharges and provides oversight of the admission and discharge process.
- Reviews nursing personnel medical record documentation to ensure that it is appropriately and accurately descriptive of the nursing care provided.
- Prepares for and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
- Determines nursing staffing levels to meet the needs of the residents and ensures that enough licensed nurses and CNAs are scheduled to meet the daily nursing care needs of each resident.
- Provide 24-hour accountability for the Nursing Department in directing and coordinating all activities of Nursing services.
- Makes rounds to verify clinical compliance including periodic spot checks of resident’s condition.
- Coordinate clinical services to promote standard clinical interventions of resident care.
- Takes corrective action in response to quality-of-service issues.
- Investigate any complaints and concerns as indicated.
- Review and follow-up on documentation for clinical compliance
- Ensure coaching and disciplinary actions are provided as indicated within the policies and procedures of the facility.
- Evaluate performance/skills/job knowledge of Nursing staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred.
- Must possess an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse license valid in this state
