The Director, Outreach will lead the agency's efforts to reach out to the community to 1) raise awareness about the Agency's direct service programs and funded partner programs to seniors in Pinellas and Pasco Counites 2) deepen engagement through education, outreach, and liaison to traditional and new community partners 3) coordinate a robust communications strategy and brand 4) coordinate annual event planning and execution 5) oversee Vaccination Outreach program and 6)research and write grants to expand current program and diversify funding sources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement thoughtful, ambitious, and outcomes-oriented community outreach strategies to educate seniors in Pinellas and Pasco Counties about the services the AAAPP and its partners agencies provide.
- Supervise and motivate Vaccination Outreach Coordinator and ensure program goals are being met on a monthly basis.
- Identify and attend/delegate weekly outreach events to educate seniors about available service and ensure monthly outreach goals are met.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure units and expenses are closely tracked.
- Oversee and implement cohesive, compelling agency communications strategies to include social media; media inquiries; donor engagement, creation of high-quality, informative, and interesting press releases; and website content. This also includes creation and implementation of branding guidelines for agency and contracted partners.
- Promote all agency programs including those provided in house as well as those funded by the Agency by coordinating with Directors and their programs’ specific outreach strategies.
- Develop and nurture relationships with a wide range of community partners. This includes actively engaging with BLS, PAN, Dunedin Committee on Aging, and related subcommittees/workgroups. This position serves as the agency’s primary liaison to BLS and PAN
- Assist with creation of AAAPP annual report.
- Plan and execute all aspects of the Annual Luncheon, in coordination with the Executive Director.
- Coordinate fundraising & awareness events, both live and online.
- Oversee agency’s grants strategy – to include research and writing of grants in concert with relevant team members and submission of reporting where appropriate.
- Develop and submit monthly outreach activity reports.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in communications or outreach position including supervision of team members.
- In place of bachelor's degree, 11 years of experience is required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proven writing and oral presentation skills with experience in public presentations.
- Grant writing and event planning experience preferred.
- Previous work with seniors is preferred. Strong project/time management skills.
- Proficiency, comfort, and interest in working with social medial tools.
- Self-starter with strong follow-through on assignments.
- Willingness and ability for frequent travel throughout Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Special Requirements: Must pass DOEA Level II criminal background screening; must sign Medicaid Attestation Payroll Form per Department of Elder Affairs/AAAPP requirements. Must sign SMMCLTC Program – Prohibited Activities.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $69,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
